What makes our gardening gloves different?

One trip to the garden centre will show you that there are no shortage of gloves available, so what makes Feverfew different?

And more importantly, what makes our women's gardening gloves so special that some customers call them the "best gardening gloves ever"?

When Rachel founded Feverfew Garden Co. back in 2022, it wasn't because she couldn't find any gardening gloves on the market - all it took was a trip to the garden centre to see plenty of offerings.

No, the problem was that Rachel couldn't find any gloves which ticked all three of her essential - but seemingly fairly basic - boxes.

  1. The gloves needed to fit properly
  2. The gloves needed to hold up well to regular use and washing
  3. The gloves needed to look good!

It seemed like everything available had been created to satisfy one of these requirements, but there wasn't anything designed for women, by women. And so Feverfew was born.

Fast forward to 2026 and the recognition has been incredible!

Our signature gardening gloves have been awarded a Gardeners' World Best Buy for three years running, received hundreds of five star reviews and find themselves stocked with our fantastic retail partners across Europe. We're regularly sending pairs all over the world from Canada to the US, Ireland to Germany (15 different countries, so far!), and we've expanded our offering to include our cold-weather essential Winter Gloves.

But the important question is; what makes our women's gardening gloves so different?

Supreme fit & comfort

Goodbye baggy fingertips, hello snug, flexible fit.

We're trying to resist the temptation to say 'they fit like a glove', but in this instance, it's really true. The gloves have been designed to fit the contours of your hands, offering a barrier around the wrist to prevent debris slipping down and fingertips which don't dangle and impede your dexterity.

One of the most common complaints we hear from gardeners is that you want to wear gloves but you still want to be able to feel what you're doing. And we get it - as gardeners ourselves, we feel this way too. So we dedicated a lot of time to achieving the right balance between protection and dexterity, chasing a flexible fit which feels ultra comfortable to wear.

Reinforced fingertips

If there is one thing that cheap gloves are almost guaranteed to do, it's bust open at the fingertips.

Though they seem budget-friendly to begin with, this type of glove is designed to fail, lasting only one season (if that) before you need to repurchase. Over the years, you end up spending more and wasting more, too! So we've reinforced the thumb, index and middle finger in the pursuit of longevity.

The added benefit? They double up as touch-screen friendly, so you won't need to slip your gloves off to snap a photo, call a pal or look up yet another video of Monty Don.

Padded knuckles & palms

Protective padding for gardening gloves should be a given, but we've designed ours with practicality in mind.

First: padding across the knuckles. We've encased foam in the stretchy spandex backing to create protection which flexes with you as you move, responding to the gardening task at hand (another pun, sorry!).

Second: clever padding across the palms, offering additional protection across the upper and lower parts which are naturally a little more fleshy and prone to callouses and friction discomfort.

Keep-together clip

How many times have you been wearing your gloves, 'quickly taken one off' and never seen it again?

The world is strewn with single lost gloves and knowing that we wanted to create pairs which stood the test of time, we incorporated a secret weapon: the keep-together clip.

Not only does this ward off the chances of being one glove down, it makes hanging the pair super easy - simply slot the little clip together, and hey presto: a simple solution to storage which doesn't leave your gloves floating around in random drawers and baskets.

The clip is also great for keeping the gloves on you during use. We love popping ours through a jeans loop when we're taking a quick snack break, ready to grab and go whenever we're ready rather than searching high and low, trying to find where they've been left!

Many of the gardening gloves widely available today are white-labelled, bought en masse from manufacturers and rebranded to sell to you.

We didn't want to do that - we wanted to actively design our gloves to the specification we knew we wanted as gardeners.

They are designed by women, for women, to fit well, stand the test of time and look good.

Find your perfect pair.
